Defect Management

Defects document a mismatch of the current behavior and the specified behavior. In aqua, there are several ways of creating a defect.

How the items in aqua are generally structured and how they are created and edited is explained in detail in the following chapters: Creating and Editing Elements, Notifications, Print, Dependencies, Attachments (Files), History, Templates.

In the following, the functionalities that are specific to defects are explained.

Creating a new Defect without a dependency

Within the module Navigation, click on New to create a new defect.

A new tab will open specifying the new defect.

Creating a new Defect by executing a test case

While executing a manual test case, you have the option to create a new defect by clicking on New Defect. if you mark a step as failed, an info bar will appear which suggests you to create a new defect.

A new tab will open and you are able to document and save your defect. Please make sure you have pop ups allowed. The information from the execution is automatically transferred and the execution is linked.

After saving the defect, you can analyze in dependencies how to reproduce the defect and which test cases have to be executed in order to specify that the functionality is fixed.
