Project Wizard (Rich Client)

In aqua, you can work with different projects at the same time. So you can have different projects with different configurations, but you can also have different projects with shared configurations. You can create new projects and decide which configuration should be chosen to configure your individual project based on your specific needs.

Unlinked Projects

Start the Project Wizard by clicking on the arrow below the button New and then select entry Project.

Press Next to create a new project.

In the field Project name please insert your project name and press Next.

Choose the radio button Create new configuration from template and select a source project in the select-box. Then, click on Create project. Your new project has the same configuration as the selected source project now. If you choose (Default) your source project, you will receive the aqua default project.

If you choose a real existing project in aqua (not the Default template), you have the option to copy items into the project. Your requirements, test cases, test scenarios and defects are copied into your destination project from the source project.

Now, your new project is created. In order to finish the project wizard press Finish.

Now you can find your new project in your aqua environment with the same configuration as your source project.

Shared Projects

A project configuration can be shared. That means that projects always have the same configuration as the master project. All configurations have to be made in the master project and cannot be changed later in the linked project. Therefore choose the option Use shared configuration in the project wizard and select a master project. This is described in the following screen.

This gives users the possibility to always work in the same project structure which is very efficient with regards to software development.

Important note: If two projects are sharing the same configuration, the dependency between both projects can not be deleted. If you want to separate a shared configuration between two projects, we recommend to create a new project based on the given project and copy all items into that project. This process can take several time, but at the present it is the only way to separate a shared configuration.
